1.5 weeks back on MacOS I'm finding that most of the apps I want are not in the App Store. Notion, Discord, Arc, VS Code, even Zoom...and searching for some will surface confusing lookalikes exploiting the fact the thing you're actually looking for is not there. It appears Apple has foot-gunned themselves with their App Store policies/rake. Contrast with Flatpack and eg Cosmic Store, where I can reliably find most apps and then manage/update them all in one place.

I wrote this around Easter this year mostly as a thought experiment about authentic xian praxis. But I revisited it in the last week and it gave me some hope for just generic moral/justice praxis in the age of idols of self.
