About 5 years ago I visited Bentonville while dropping our oldest off at U of Arkansas in neighboring Fayetteville. As an avid cyclist at the time, I couldn't help but reflect on the juxtaposition of all the euro-style infrastructure in a southern town, all built from money made by winning at American Capitalism. I wanted to write a long form about it, but I'm not a journalist. Mine was more of an aesthetic question, but this video asks adjacent structural questions.
The new Boards of Canada does not disappoint

"A quote from this beloved character in a treatise condemning a society that prizes efficiency above all else, and concentrates immense power and wealth in the hands of a few, scans as a direct message to those people—whether intentional or not. But with their reading comprehension, who knows if it can get through."
I am/was a `bun` user. I have reason to use it today and wanted to check which version I'm on -- pre or post-AI-Rust-rewrite -- and their Github is just a wall of agent-authored PRs. They must have a slew of them just slinging code, and seemingly for the most part also reviewing the generated code. I haven't found the infamous vibe-coded rewrite yet, but I love a good troll PR: github.com/oven-sh/bun/pull/31085
So far I can't even tell if the latest release was built after said rewrite.
Spent the first half of today doing some personal archives curating (and resultant web searching) and discovered:
- An old friend of mine from the early 2000s died from cancer in 2018
- The original title for my 2007 record "Happy Sounding Sad Songs" was "Love or Hate"
- I still want to put some of my graphic work from my brief graphic art period (one attached) on my site

- I created an elaborate digital installation in a bar in 2001. In the artist statement: "Without knowing how to respond to these acts of abuse and hatred on both a micro and a macro scale, I immediately searched for meaning..." 10 years later, a similar statement: "After my daughter Margot died, I found myself no longer with an artistic voice to help make meaning out of the meaningless, but a need and desire for the same..."
- This song is still a banger, Bands on the Run was a good reality TV show, maybe the only one, although if I re-watched now it might ruin it, and I had no idea this was produced by Rick Beato, whose name would have meant nothing to me at the time
- Arrested Development (the hip hop group) latest record was released last year, "Adult Contemporary Hip Hop", and it's good. They are playing the Greenbelt festival in the UK this year. I haven't been to Greenbelt in over two decades, but the few times I went in the early 2000s were formative.

@digitalsnow this is from Dallas's own Collosal, which is mostly a PR firm dressing as science
